Chandigarh, August 3, 2015: Haryana Chief Minister Mr Manohar Lal will dedicate an innovative project known as “Thari Pension, Thare Pass’ in Chandigarh on August 4,2015 at 9:30 a.m.
While giving this information here today, a spokesman of Social Justice and Empowerment Department said that under this campaign about ten lakh beneficiaries would get payment of social security pensions of July 2015 through banks or post offices directly into their accounts marking the successful completion of its first phase covering all towns and villages with banks.
He said that this ambitious project has been undertaken by “Team Kalyankarini” of the Department.
Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Mrs Kavita Jain would be the Chief Guest. He said that Minister of State for Social Justice and Empowerment Mr Krishan Kumar would also be present on this occasion.
The spokesman said that department has achieved the major milestone of crossing ten lakh beneficiaries who would start getting Direct Benefit Transfer through Banks or Branch Post Offices with effect from August 2015 (July pension paid in August).
He reminded that with a view to bring more transparency in disbursement of social security pensions, in the first cabinet meeting a decision was taken by Haryana Government to disburse social security pensions directly through banks. Consequently, the disbursement of pension under the Schemes known as Old age samman allowance, Widow and destitute pension, Disability pension, Ladli Social Security Schemes, Financial Assistance to Destitute Children, Allowances to Eunuchs, Allowances to Dwarfs and Financial Assistance to Non-School going Disabled Children has been started through Banks/Post Offices.
