Chandigarh, August 3, 2015: Haryana Transport Minister, Mr.Krishan Lal Panwar said that no new state carriage permit would be issued and the existing permit holders would continue to ply their buses in the state.
Mr.Panwar was presiding over a meeting with representatives of ‘Haryana Roadways Karamchari Talmel Committee’ and All Haryana Roadways Workers Joint Action Committee here today.
He said that 1000 new drivers were being recruited on contractual basis on monthly honorarium of Rs 12,500 so as to further improve the bus services in the State. He said that the Chief Minister has given administrative approval for purchase of 600 new bus chassis which would increase the number of buses in the fleet to 4600.
It was informed in the meeting that Electronic Ticket Issue Machines would be given to conductors of five depots by the next 7-8 months and in all depots by the next 14 months.
In the meeting, representatives of both Haryana Roadways Karamchari Talmel Committee and All Haryana Roadways Workers Joint Action Committee assured the Minister to extend their cooperation. Also, the Minister assured the representatives that all their genuine demands would be considered sympathetically.
Additional Chief Secretary, Transport, Mr. S.S. Dhillon and Director, Transport, Mr. Vinay Singh were also present in the meeting. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
