Shimla, August 3, 2015: Chairperson, Hospital Welfare Section of Himachal Pradesh Red Cross Society Smt.Pratibha Singh stressed the need for launching a de-addiction campaign in Shimla town for the youth by the State Red Cross Hospital Welfare Section with active participation of general masses. She was presiding over the annual meeting of the Section here today.
Showing her concern over the consistent rise in the cases of drugs in the younger generation, she said local citizens should come forward for lending their helping hand to tackle this menace.
She emphasized the need for involving more women and youth in Red Cross activities.
Smt. Singh said that income of Rs. 4.50 lakh was generated from stalls put up during state level annual Red Cross Fair at the Ridge in Shimla whereas Rs. one lakh had been collected through Red Cross flags. She said that this collection would go a long way in providing succour to the needy and poor persons.
Honorary Secretary of Hospital Welfare Section Smt. Poonam Chauhan conducted the proceedings.
Vice Chairperson, Hospital Welfare Section Smt. Firoza Vijay Singh, Secretary Red Cross Shri P.S. Rana and other office bearers were present on the occasion.
