Chandigarh, July 8, 2015: The Gram Panchayat of village Babupur, district Gurgaon has been selected to make it more advanced, high-tech and digitize. The gram panchayats of ten states would be covered under the pilot project.
While giving this information today, an official spokesman said that the office of e-Model Gram Panchayat Babupur has been set up in the village itself and all data of Babupur Panchayat is being uploaded on the website through internet for which training has already been imparted to Gram Sachivs, Sarpanches and public representatives.
He said that the office has been made fully computerized and complete information of the village is also made available on the website of gram panchayat http://www.gpbabupur-gurgaon.harpanchayats.gov.in which include description of development works, expenditure incurred on them, population of the village, number of voters, sex ratio, development plan, details of income-expenditure etc. This has brought more transparency in the works, he added.
The spokesman said that 11 different softwares have been developed to upload data on this website. Apart from computerizing the income- expenditure details, status report of various works being carried out is also available on the website.
He said that on the pattern of Babupur, other gram panchayats of the district would also be linked with this concept so as to bring more transparency in the ongoing development works in various gram panchayats. He said that the State Government has also provided laptops to Gram Sachivs’ so that they may not face any problem in understanding this concept.
The other nine states of which the Gram Panchayats have been included under the pilot project are Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Tripura and West Bengal. // (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
