Shimla, July 6, 2015: Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh while speaking on the occasion of passing out parade of recruits of Railway Protection Force (RPF) And Railway Protection Special Force (RPSF) at Daroh near Palampur in district Kangra said that this was for the first time that Himachal Pradesh Police Training Centre at Daroh had provided training to the recruits from 16 different zones of RPF and RPSF from all over the country, which was a welcome step.
The Chief Minister said earlier the recruits of the State had to go to Phillour for this training but it was a matter of proud that not only Himachali but recruits from other States were also being trained at Daroh.
He exhorted the recruits to accept the challenge of regular changing trends in the society and particularly to be vigilant during the duty to stop misuse and damage of railway and public property and deal with the miscreants strictly. He wished success to the passing out recruits in their future endeavour.
Shri Virbhadra Singh said he was delighted to see the female recruits outnumbering their male counterparts as girls were forging ahead in every sphere of life.
He announced a sum of Rs. 10 lakh for the renovation of old barracks and Rs. 40 lakh for construction of toilet blocks.
The Chief Minister also launched e-challaning, an innovative system through mobiles.
Earlier, the Chief Minister took salute of an impressive march past by the contingents of Railway Protection Force. He also distributed prizes to the passing out contingents who excelled themselves during training.
Besides playing police band, weaponary skills were also displayed by the girl recruits on the occasion.
DGP Shri Sanjay Kumar welcomed the Chief Minister and detailed about the recruits and type of training given to them. He said that the six months training given to the recruits included study of Criminal Law, Indian Railway Act, Human Behaviour and courtesy, etc.
He thanked the Chief Minister for laying foundation stone of stadium and synthetic track which will be completed at a cost of Rs. 39 lakh. DGP demanded a sum of Rs 40 lakh for construction of toilets blocks and rupees 10 lakh for repair of old barracks.
As many as 753 candidates were imparted training which included 604 female and 149 male contingents.
Ms. Sudha Yadav from Central RPF led the passing out parade.
