Shimla, July 4, 2015: Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh today held a review meeting with the officials of C&C company which is working on widening of Theog-Kharapathar-Hatkoti road project in Shimla district. The Chief Engineer of this road project Shri B.S. Chauhan was also present in the meeting.
Shri Virbhadra Singh expressed his displeasure over the slow pace of the on-going work on this road and directed for speeding up and completing the work on priority on the six kilometers patch on either side of Kharapathar before apple season to ensure smooth transportation of apple crop.
After cancelling his flight to Shimla by Helicopter from Rohru, the Chief Minister preferred to travel back by road. He rescheduled his route from Melthi to Baral and to Patsari and came via Hatkoti.
He said that it was due to the mismanagement of the company concerned that the progress on the construction of Theog-Kharapathar-Hatkoti road had been delayed. The work which should have been completed within a year had taken more than one and a half years and still much had to be done.
The Chief Minister also directed to keep open the road during the apple season and directed the company to depute more men and machinery. He also directed the PWD officials to speed up repair work on link roads in the apple belt.
