RCF Bulit Coach LHB 3 Tier.
Kapurthala, May 31, 2015: Rail Coach Factory, Kapurthala, one of the premier production unit of Indian Railways in coach manufacturing is committed to achieve excellence in design, development, manufacture, installation and servicing of Railway coaches and other products so as to ensure continued customer satisfaction. In this context, the coaches have been provided with several passenger friendly amenities to make the journey comfortable.
The LHB AC coaches have wider panoramic windows, and now mobile/Laptop charging points have been provided in side berth side of the coaches. Also, Provision of two nos. of mobile/Laptop charging sockets in conventional coaches outside lavatory area (near doorway) at each end (total 4 nos. per coach) has been implemented from March, 2015. Design of Pedal type Dust Bin has been modified to enhance the capacity of dust bin from 22 liters to 30 liters for waste collection. These dust bins are to be provided in General and Sleeper coaches. The solution to jerks in LHB coaches has been solved with procurement of Modified Balance Type Draft Gear Coupler which have been received for 18 coach sets (36 nos.) from Escorts for fitment.
Fire Alarm system, VESDA (Very Early Smoke Direction Alarm) has been introduced in some LHB coaches. Fire Alarms are also being provided in Power Cars and Hot Buffet Cars. Fire Retardant Material viz. PVC flooring, hard board, curtains, seat and berth etc. are being provided in all coaches.
Provision of Braille Display for convenience of Visually Impaired Passengers has been made in few coaches from last fiscal2014-15.
To make station and railway track clean, Bio Toilets have been provided in LHB coaches too. Earlier they were being provided in Conventional coaches. RCF has fitted 6653 bio toilets in 2557 coaches till, last year.
