Chandigarh, May 31, 2015: The Member Secretary, Haryana State Legal Services Authority (HALSA) disclosed that Scheduled Lok Adalats were held on Saturday at Ambala, Fatehabad, Ratia, Tohana, Gurgaon, Jind, Safidon, Narwana, Hissar, Hansi, Kaithal, Guhla, Nuh, Mohindergarh, Palwal, Sonipat, Gohana, Ganaur, Yamunangar and Bilaspur. Special Lok Adalats for Motor Accident Claims Tribunal Cases were also held today in all District Court Complexes in the State of Haryana. In these Lok Adalats 9640 Cases were taken up and out of which 2730 cases were settled in which included 73 MACT cases pertaining to death/injury arising out of vehicular accidents wherein an amount of Rs. 15165595 was awarded as compensation. 2657 cases were pertaining to other categories i.e. civil and petty criminal, revenue and bank loan cases pending and at pre-litigative stage were also settled.
The Member Secretary, HSLSA further disclosed that if any person is interested to get his/her case settled in the Lok Adalats, he/she may move an application to the concerned District & Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman or Chief Judicial Magistrate-cum-Secretary, District Legal Services Authority in district or Additional Civil Judge (Senior Division)/Senior Most Civil Judge-cum-Chairman of Sub-Divisional Legal Services Committee under whose jurisdiction the case falls./ (SK Vya, Jalandhar)
