Chandigarh, May 23, 2015: Haryana government has decided to impart skill development training to 20,000 youths under Integrated Skill Development Scheme in the next two years.
While giving this information here today, an official spokesman said that this scheme has been implemented in the seven districts of the state namely Panipat, Bhiwani, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Hisar, Ambala and Rohtak and the maximum duration of the training would be six months. Under this scheme, scholarship of Rs. 1000 would also be given to students after successfully completing six months vocational skill training in knitting, cutting, garment dyeing, block printing, embroidery, handloom, garment designing.
The spokesperson said that for this training selection of candidates would be made on the basis of training requirement, interest and commitment of the applicant. The eligible candidate should be of 14-35 years of age. He said that priority would be given to candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Backward Classes, minorities, women, students who left school, disabled and those belonging to below poverty line families. Every candidate has to give training fee of Rs. 500 and the expenditure on this training would be borne by the state government, he added. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
