Hoshiarpur, November 27, 2014: Anivash Rai Khanna, MP, has handed over a demand draft worth Rs.60,180 as an assistance for flood victims of Jammu and Kashmir to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi recently.
According to Khanna’s political secretary Sanjiv Talwar the amount was collected by Bhagwant Singh of Chhavni Kalan village and the village’s ex-Sarpanch Paramjit kaur and Amandeep Kaur from the villagers. He said the prime minister had lauded this noble initiative of the villagers.
He added Modi had dreamed of united India from Kanyakumari to Kashmir, for which Chhavni Kalan villagers had contributed.
Earlier, relief material was dispatched for the flood victims of J&K from different parts of the state with the assistance of Khanna, he said.
