Noida, November 10, 2014: Jaypee Hospital, the flagship 1200-bedded tertiary care multi-specialty facility, in alliance with Association of Medical Physicists of India- Northern chapter (AMPI-NC) celebrated International Day of Medical Physics (IDMP) on November 8 in order to commemorate birth anniversary of Madam Curie. A symposium on "Radiation and medical physicist: Optimizing, adapting and personalizing cancer Therapy” has been organized at Jaypee Hospital, Noida. International Organization for Medical Physics (IOMP) has announced 7th of November, birth anniversary of Marie Sklodowska Curie as International Day of Medical Physics (IDMP).
The purpose of the event was to promote the visibility of Medical Physicists and their role in medicine and also to raise awareness to others on Medical Physics profession. Elaborating on the conference theme, Dr. Sandeep Kumar jain, Senior Consultant (Radiation Oncology) Jaypee Hospital, said, “The medical physicists help translate the science of radiation physics into the clinical diagnosis and treatment. Although Medical physics is a mature profession, it is still an expanding profession and its advances into medical practice are quite phenomenal.’’

A one day scientific event is organized to celebrate this occasion with scientific presentations and panel discussions. The event will start with a lecture on Madam Curie followed by various eminent speakers from all over the country.
