New Delhi, November 9, 2014: The Haryana Government is working on a new policy to check corruption in registration of immovable property in Tehsils. Under the new policy which would be implemented after one month, a buyer or seller wanting to get property registered/transferred will just have to deposit the requisite stamp duty in the tehsil. The owner will get the registry at home.
This was disclosed by the Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar, while speaking to media persons at Rohtak in Haryana on Sunday. People have lots of complaints regarding registration of immovable property in tehsils. He said, “Work has already started on the new arrangement under which people would get registry at their doorsteps. Concerned officers have assured me that it would be in place after a month”, he added.
If any discrepancy is found in the new system of delivery of registry at the people’s doorsteps, it would be addressed and the problem solved. If any mistake is found in the registry delivered at the house of the property owner, it would be rectified. Concerned officers will be held responsible for any fault in implementation of the programme being launched by the state government, he added.
The Chief Minister Said, “We went to the people with the promise of development and elimination of corruption from its roots. Now, all works would be carried out keeping in with the wishes of the people. It is my first visit to Rohtak. I know people have high expectations from the government and we shall work to meet them. Action would be taken on every complaint posted on the Chief Minister's Window to be started at the district level,” the Chief Minister said.
Referring to the first expansion of the Union Government today in which Haryana also got representation, Khattar expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, and the BJP President, Amit Shah, on inducting Birender Singh as Cabinet Minister.
Earlier, the Chief Minister inaugurated Bhagwan Mahavir Digital Library set up by Dighambar Jain Society at Rohtak. Speaking on this occasion, he said that the library would prove helpful in achieving the target of ‘Swacch Bharat’ set by the Prime Minister.
