New Delhi/Jalandhar, December 3, 2013: The Special Judge for CBI Cases, Rohini, Delhi has today convicted Parshuram Gupta; Madan Mohan Khanna; Nemi Chand Bansal; Anand Mohan & A.K.Shankran (an official of RCS) for the irregularities relating to Co-Operative Group Housing Society case and sentenced the accused Parsuram Gupta to undergo 7 years Rigorous Imprisonment with a fine of Rs.11 lakhs; Madan Mohan Khanna; Nemi Chand Bansal & Anand Mohan to undergo 5 years RI with a fine of Rs. 10 lakhs each and A.K.Shankran to undergo 5 years RI with a fine of Rs. 2 lakhs. All the convicts have been taken into custody and remanded to Tihar Jail, Delhi.
The High Court, Delhi in CWP No. 10066/2004, directed CBI to investigate the whole matter relating to Co-Operative Group Housing Society which were revived and allotted land in view of unholy alliance between the builders and powerful persons in various departments and Societies which had become defunct or lost interest in allotment for the one person or the other.
The instant case was registered on 08-03-2007 by CBI under section 120-B r/w 420, 468, 471 of IPC 13(2) r/w 13(1) (d) against the accused Parshuram Gupta and others. It was alleged in the FIR that the resignation letters and the documents of the society i.e. Satyam Co-Operative Group Housing Society were forged by the accused persons and land was got allotted to the society by them in connivance with RCS officials. There were several violations of DCS Act 1972 and DCS Rules 1973.
After thorough investigation, CBI filed a charge sheet on 03-06-2008 against Parshuram Gupta, Madan Mohan Khanna, Nemi Chand Bansal, Anand Mohan and A.K.Shankran in the Designated Court, Delhi.
