New Delhi/Jalandhar, September 17, 2013: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Personal Assistant to Municipal Councillor of Delhi for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 1 lakh from the Complainant.
A case was registered by CBI against Municipal Councillor of Santgarh,Tilak Nagar,South Zone of Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) and also against his PA (private person) U/s 120B IPC r/w section 7 & 8 of P.C. Act for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs.1.25 lakh from the Complainant(a builder). It was alleged that the Councillor demanded a bribe of Rs.1.25 lakh to ensure that the MCD building department will not take action on a building under construction by the Complainant at Sant Garh,Tilak Nagar, New Delhi. CBI laid a trap and the PA to Municipal Councillor was caught red handed, while accepting a bribe of Rs. 1 lakh from the Complainant on behalf of Municipal Councillor.
The arrested accused was produced before the Duty Magistrate at Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi and was remanded to two days police custody.
Further investigation is going on.
