HOODA visits Dehradun, Rishikesh and Haridwar centers set up for helping stranded people of Haryana

New Delhi/Jalandhar, June 23, 2013: Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda today visited Dehradun, Rishikesh and Haridwar  to meet the people belonging to Haryana who have been rescued from various parts of Uttrakhand.  

Hooda also reviewed the functioning of centers set up at Dehradun and Rishikesh by the State Government for providing necessary help   to the people belonging to Haryana, who are stranded at various places of Uttrakhand.

Hooda said that thousands of people are still stranded at various places in Uttrakhandand rescue operations are being carried out at faster pace. He said that with the help of Government, military and other volunteers, stranded people were being taken to safer places.

Hooda said that 50,000 blankets would be sent for people stranded at various places in Uttrakhandand out of these, 25,000 blankets have already been dispatched from Haryana today.

He said that buses of Haryana Roadways have been deployed to carry rescued persons from Dehradun, Rishikesh and Haridwar to their destinations free of cost. He said that the disaster in Uttrakhandis a big tragedy and State Government is providing every possible help to the stranded persons.

On this occasion,  Hooda also met persons who have been provided shelter at railway station, bus stand, ashram and dharamshalas.
