New Delhi/Jalandhar, June 23, 2013: First consignment of relief material has been sent to for flood effected people of Uttrakhand from Panipat.
MLA Balbir Pal Shah and Deputy Commissioner Samir Pal Saro today flagged off 5 trucks carrying 25 thousand blankets from Mini Secretariat.
Balbir Pal Shah said that on the initiative of the Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda, this relief material is being sent to Dehradun by the Panipat District administration and various social organisations. The relief material will be made available to the flood victims through the control room at Dehradun set up by Haryana Government. In second consignment, food items and dry milk will be sent. He appreciated cooperation given by the district administration and social organisations.
The DC, Saro thanked the social organisations for contributing relief material with open heart. He said that as soon as the relief material for second consignment is received, it will be sent to Uttrakhand. He informed that tehsildar of Panipat Suresh Kumar has been sent alongwith first consignment as nodal officer. One constable each has been put on duty on every truck.
On this occasion, ADC RS Verma, SDM Ashwani Malik, Mukesh Tuteja and other officers were also present.
