Chandigarh, September 3, 2015: The Haryana Government is actively considering the principle of equity in deciding the quantum of compensation to be paid to the farmers for the land acquired for the Kaithal-Titram bypass. The concerned farmers were invited for a dialogue and the matter would be resolved by September 10, 2015.

This was disclosed by the Chief Minister, Mr Manohar Lal, while speaking in response to a call-attention notice on the second day of the monsoon session of the Haryana Vidhan Sabha today regarding land acquisition for the Kaithal bypass on National Highway No. 65.

The state government is conscious of the expectations of the landowners in the state and would ensure that no injustice is done to them, he assured the House.

Mr Manohar Lal said that barring the Kaithal-Titram bypass, there is no disagreement on the land acquired for other bypasses at Pehowa, Ismailabad and Kalayat. The state government has full sympathy for the land owners of Kaithal-Titram who were demanding compensation on par with that of other three bypasses, the Chief Minister said. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
