Jalandhar, September1.2015: A grand felicitation ceremony to commemorate the Golden Jubilee of victory and valour of the Indian Armed Forces in the 1965 war was organized at border town Bamial in Pathankot District under Gurj Division. The event was attended by senior military and civilian dignitaries alongwith a number of Veterans and Veer Naris of 1965 war belonging to Gurdaspur, Pathankot and Kathua Districts of Punjab and J&K.
A cultural programme was presented by the children of RS Public School and DAV Public School, Bamial as part of the celebrations. The Veterans who participated in the great Indian victory gave an account of their experiences and the valour and bravery of Indian soldiers during the war. A band, weapon and equipment display was also showcased. Army had organised a health check up kiosk and Sahayta Kendra for the veterans.
The Veer Naris and Veterans were felicitated as a token of gratitude for their service and sacrifice for the nation. The ceremony symbolized the nation’s gratitude towards its Armed Forces.
