Jalandhar, August 21, 2015: Lt Gen Jagbir Singh Cheema, General Officer Commanding Vajra Corps on assumption of Command of the Vajra Corps paid rich tributes to the War Heroes at Shaurya Sthal, here today, in a solemn wreath laying ceremony on the first day of his command.
It was also an occasion to acknowledge the unique place Vajra Corps holds in the annals of war history, in specific to the 1965 war. Most decisive battles of the war were fought at Asal Uttar, Batapore, Dograi and Barki, in the Corps area of responsibility. General Officer paying homage to the Vajra martyrs also vowed to keep the flag of Vajra Corps flying high and live up to its motto of “Defenders of Punjab”.
