Chandigarh, July 31, 2015: The Members of the Consumer Grievances Redressal Forum (CGRF) of the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam will extensively tour the areas in its jurisdiction in the month of August, 2015 to hear grievances of the consumers and consider new complaints.
While stating this here today a spokesman of the Nigam said that the proceedings of the CGRF would be held at Karnal on August 3, Yamuna Nagar on August 5 and Ambala on August 7. Similarly, CGRF would be in Sonepat on August 10, Panipat on August 12, Kurukshetra on August 19, Jhajjar on August 21, Rohtak on August 24 and Kaithal on August 26. Now, the consumers from distant places will not be required to go to the Forum office at Panchkula for redressal of their grievances.
He said that the CGRF consider all grievances of the consumers like billing problem, voltage complaints, problems in metering, disconnection and reconnection of power supply, interruptions, failure of power supply, efficiency, safety, reliability and non compliance of Haryana Electricity Regulatory Commission orders. However, the cases of theft of electricity and its unauthorized use, offences and penalties as specified under section 135 to 139 of Electricity Act, accidents and inquiries as under section 161 of the Act would not be considered by the Forum, he added. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
