Ferozepur, July 28, 2015: Following yesterday’s terrorist attack at Dinanagar, near Gurdaspur in which thousands of railway passengers had a narrow escape, the trains routes were reinstated today. “Today we had checked the tracks with the help of a pilot engine. After the successful run of the train (number 74672) from Amritsar to Pathankot in the morning, this route was reinstated”, said the DRM.
“However, all the RPF officials have been kept on high alert besides strict instructions have been passed to P-Way Supervisors and Gang man to keep a check on the railway tracks”, added DRM.
It is worth mentioning here that five bombs were found from a bridge near Dinanagar at Gurdaspur (Bridge number 236, Kilometer Number 84/5-7). Luckily these bombs were noticed by trackman Ashwani Kumar, a railway employee, who informed the railway control room without wasting any time. “Trackman Ashwani Kumar will be awarded by the Railway for his act of shrewdness and bravery”, said DRM Anuj Parkash.
