Shimla, July 10, 2015: Secretary, Administrative Reforms Smt Purnima Chauhan said that State Government was taking earnest steps for ensuring effective implementation of the provisions of HP Public Service Guarantee Act so that more people could be benefited with this Act and training was being imparted to the officials of the concerned department. She said that State Government had abolished the essential condition of submitting affidavits to various government departments for various purposes from 31st January, 2015 which provided relief to the people of the State. Himachal Pradesh was the first State in the country who took such initiative, she added.
She was presiding over the meeting regarding the implementation of the provisions of Public Service Guarantee Act here today. She said that 65 services had been covered under the provisions of the Act and 20 Nodal officers in various departments have been deputed for the implementation of the Act. Public grievances were being addressed through video conferencing also.
She said the Act and its rules had been passed by the state government in order to ensure accountability and responsiveness in the administration which also guarantee delivery of notified public services to the citizens within the stipulated period. The Act also provide for penalizing the officials in case of delay or non delivery of services.
The Act was ensuring transparency, accountability and responsiveness in the administration and also guarantees the delivery of notified public services to the citizens.
Smt. Chauhan said the information about these services was available on the website of department of Administrative Reforms and it could also be obtained from all 2350 Lok Mitra Kendras being run in the State.
She said master trainers would be trained and deputed at district and department level to ensure that service providing departments provide the services in a stipulated time period.
State Technical Director, NIC Shri Ajay Chahal, Additional Secretary, Public Grievances Redressal Dr. Rajiv Kapur were also present in the meeting and gave their valuable suggestions.
