Shimla, July 6, 2015: Chief Minister Shri Virbhadra Singh launched a mobile application, ‘Tour Mandi’ here today, on the initiative of Deputy Commissioner Mandi and Information Technology Department Government of Himachal Pradesh, which provides detailed information of the places of tourists interest in district Mandi.
Giving detailed information Deputy Commissioner, Mandi, Shri Sandeep Kadam said that the app would help the tourists to find places of tourist interest besides the important numbers of the district administration to contact in case of emergency. He said that the app also contains an SOS button which would facilitate the visitors to immediately contact in case of any mishap or emergency, no matter he remembers any of the emergency numbers provided in the application. The SOS call will directly link with emergency number 108.
He said the app also contains information of nearby government and private hospitals, Police stations, police posts, nearest petrol pumps etc and linked with google map which would further help the tourist to find out the route from any corner of the country.
The application will also provide access to the face book page of DC Mandi, website of district Mandi administration and google play store.
Besides, the mobile application also send message to the visitors to keep the environ clean, not to venture along the river banks, not to litter etc.
The Chief Minister appreciating the efforts and said that all the district should follow the same and create such applications which would help the tourists visiting the State.
Urban development Minister, Shri Sudhir Sharma, Chief Secretary, Shri P. Mitra, Additional Chief Secretary, Smt. Upma Chaudhary and Shri V.C. Pharka, OSD to Chief Minister, Shri Amit Pal Singh and Director IT, Ms. Priyanka Basu were also present on the occasion amongst others.
