ARREST: CBI arrests five absconding accused in connection with murder of Phool Mohd, then SHO of Rajasthan police

Jalandhar, January 10, 2013: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested five absconding accused in connection with the alleged murder of Phool Mohd, the then SHO, Man Town Police Station, Sawai Madhopur District (Rajasthan).

The arrested accused were produced in the Court of the Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sawai Madhopur, and were remanded to Judicial Custody.

This case was earlier investigated by CID: CB of Rajasthan Police on the allegation of the murder of Phool Mohd., the then SHO, Man Town Police Station by a mob in Surwal Village in Sawai Madhopur District on March 17, 2011 while he was on official duty.

CBI took up the investigation on June 30, 2011 on the request of the Rajasthan Government and further Notification from Govt. of India.

After thorough investigation, CBI filed a supplementary chargesheet against 88 accused persons and one Juvenile Delinquent U/s 147, 148, 149, 152, 332, 353, 427, 435, 440, 307, 302, 304-A, 109, 114 & 201 of IPC; U/s 3 & 4 of Prevention of Damage to Public Property Act, 1984. At the time of filing chargesheet, 69 accused persons were absconding. On April 7, 2012, the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, Sawai Madhopur issued Non-Bailable Warrants of Arrest against all the absconding accused.

The CBI with the assistance of District Police, Sawai Madhopur, carried out coordinated searches/raids in various places in Surwal Village, and arrested five absconding accused persons on January 09, 2013. Further investigation is in progress.
