Chandigarh, May 26, 2015: With an aim to provide uninterrupted and quality power supply to the consumers during paddy season as per the schedule, the Uttar Haryana Bijli Vitran Nigam (UHBVN) has directed all its officers and officials to not to avail leave during the period.
Stating this, Mr Nitin Yadav, Managing Director, UHBVN said here today that the demand of electricity and daily consumption in Haryana is burgeoning at a fast pace. It was record 9151 MW on 25 August, 2014 keeping in view the increase of around 10 percent, the demand during the upcoming paddy season has been projected as much as 9500 MW. With the sharp increase in demand the Discoms has planned various short term and long term power arrangements through Haryana Power Purchase Centre (HPPC). In addition, the transmission and distribution system has also been augmented considerably by commissioning new substations and augmenting capacity of existing substations.
He further ensured that the Nigam will be all geared up to supply uninterrupted power to the rural domestic and tubewell consumers round the clock. For this he has given instruction to all its officers and officials to keep their mobile phones on switch on mode all the time.
