Chandigarh, May 14, 2015: Devender Singh, Principal Secretary, Haryana Industries and Commerce and Information Technology Department, has
said that skill development programmes would be launched for the youth to inspire them to set up own ventures. This is necessary as the problem of unemployment cannot be solved through government jobs, he added.
Speaking at the 132nd meeting of State Level Bankers’ Committee meeting here today, he asked bankers to have better close coordination with the new industrial policy which would soon be implemented in the state. The state government plans to set up a corpus fund under the proposed Industrial Policy with the help of the Central Government.
While the latter would give Rs 900 crore, the state government would contribute Rs 100 crore to the fund.
Stressing the need for inspiring the youth to set up micro, small and medium enterprises, he asked banks to set up services in those areas where people were still deprived of banking facilities. He also asked banks to make their contribution to the system launched by the state government to provide government services to the people at their doorsteps through e-governance and Citizen Service Centres. / (SK Vyas, Jalandhar)
