Fake identity card (I-card) of Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Mumbai Andheri West Police recovered from Congress MLA and noted Punjabi singer Mohd Sadique’s son-in-law Mohammad Yasin by PAU Police, Ludhiana on Monday.
Ludhiana, April 8, 2013: PAU Police here, have arrested Congress MLA and noted Punjabi singer Mohd Sadique’s son-in-law for carrying fake identity card (I-card) of Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Mumbai Andheri West Police.
The accused has been identified as Mohammad Yasin, a resident of Barewal Road, Ludhiana.
SHO Inspector Gurbir Singh told the media persons here on Monday that the police had laid a naka in the Barewal area to apprehend anti-social elements.
He said seeing a suspected person he was asked to stop but the suspected person attempted to flee away. However, the suspected person was chased and arrested.
He told that on search, an I-card was recovered from the possession of the suspected person identified as Mohammad Yasin.
Mohammad Yasin was carrying I-card of Crime Investigation Department (CID) of Mumbai Andheri West Police. However, on checking the I-card was found fake.
The accused had claimed to be an undercover agent of CID. However, the police said this claim was fake one.
Further police investigation is in progress.
When contacted, Mohd Sadique confirmed that the arrested accused was his son-in-law. However, he told that he stood with the truth. He said if one had done wrong then he had to pay the price for the same.
