Dharamsala, February 12, 2015: Addressing a massive gathering at Shahpur today Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh announced to give status of Nagar Panchayat to Shahpur of Kangra District and up-gradation of community health center to civil hospital there . He assured that the demand for creating SDM office at Shahpur would be considered sympathetically.

Vir Bhadr Singh was addressing a rally in Shahpur, near Dharamsala, on Thursday.

He said there were numerous small scale, medium  industries in the country providing raw material to other countries and were also manufacturing many small automated parts used in making space and defense appliances.

“I wish that Himachal should have numerous such small scale, micro and medium industries as it will help in raising economy of the State besides providing employment to our youth,” he said, adding that under the ambitious skill development allowance scheme we have an opportunity in front of us to learn procedural technical expertise in various trades so as to be self sufficient.

“There is immense need of nursing and para medical staff in the country and in other countries as well and the youth of the State should be technically qualified and experts in different trades as the doors of the employment were waiting for them", he said.

Referring to the increasing un-employment in the country, the Chief Minister said that the need of the hour was to be technically sound and qualified. The youth should not run after government jobs instead they should take technical training or join courses as nursing or in other field so as to tap the opportunities of being self employed.

He said that some people try to divide the Nation on the pretext of region and religion and if they somehow succeed in their ulterior motives, the Nation will die its death. Thereby, the moral duty of everyone is to strengthen the Nation by forgetting the divides of caste, region and religion, he said.

Similarly, if anyone tries to divide Himachal on the basis of language, caste, region and religion we will fight against them, standing united, he added.

Remembering the pre-independence era, the Chief Minister said that the population of the country was then 32 crore and as many as eight crore people left for Pakistan. Thereafter, it was a time to re-build the Country and the then Prime Minister, Jawahar Lal Nehru by adopting a scientific approach and temperament adopted such measures, so as to bring green revolution. As of today, India has a population

of as many as 120 crore and is competent enough to cater to the essential needs of other countries. He said that during the British era, our country faced the aftermath of raising voice for independence.

However, now India stands as one of the most progressive nation after independence. Our country witnessed immense Industrial revolution and today we are ahead of other Nations in terms of development.

Taking a jibe at the opposition, he said that the Himachal BJP is still at the place from where it began from.  He advised the State BJP leaders to stop doing politics of regionalism and stop creating rift between people, as Himachal is and will remain united ever.

Later, he laid foundation stones of bridge between lower and upper Chaitru to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 1.28 crores and building for rural self employment training institute which would be constructed by spending rupees three crores.

Vice-Chairman, HP Tourism Corporation Vijay Singh Mankotia welcomed the Chief Minister and honoured him on the occasion.

Referring Virbhadra Singh as ‘Vikas Purush’, Shri Mankotia said the State had witnessed many mile-stones of development during the congress regimes in the State and particularly those regimes which were headed by Virbhadra Singh. He said that it would be appropriate to refer Virbhadra Singh as “Vikas Purush’henceforth. He termed the development of Shahpur as a gift from Virbhadra Singh.
