Dharamsala, December 15, 2014: Himachal got two days of heavy snowfall and rainfall but even Monday, day of non snow or rain in Himachal was not felt as the day of relief. An intense cold wave left Himachal reeling Monday.
The state capital Shimla, which received 29.3 cm of snowfall since Sunday, experienced its coldest night at 0.9 degree Celsius.
Water in taps in residential areas located in Shimla's US Club and Jakhu Hills remained frozen due to the extreme cold.
Vir Bhadra Singh, Chief Minister, Himachal Pradesh is really concerned about the difficulties of the Shimla residents and twitted, “Directed concerned authorities 2 restore water pipe lines, electrical cables and other essential services within 2 days positively the authorities”.
