New Delhi, December 2, 2014: The Central Bureau of Investigation has registered a case on a complaint from Vigilance Wing of West Central Railways U/s 120 B of IPC and 13(2) r/w 13 (1) (c) & (d) of PC Act, 1988 against an Office Superintendent (Commercial), West Central Railway, Jabalpur and his accomplice (a private person ) on the allegations of misappropriation of two Excess Fare Receipt Books (EFR) and attempt for selling the said EFR Books @ Rs. 20,000 each. It was revealed that a TTE received telephone call from one person asking for payment of Rs. 20,000 towards one EFR. The TTE informed the same to Vigilance Department of Western Central Railways. A joint operation with Vigilance & RPF was conducted. Two EFR Books were found in the possession of an accomplice (a private person) of Office Superintendent and were kept by her on the request of said Office Superintendent Both the accused have been arrested.
Searches were conducted at three premises of the accused at office & residence in Jabalpur. During searches, incriminating documents have been recovered. The arrested persons were produced in CBI Court, Jabalpur and remanded to Custody.
