Mumbai, November 24, 2014: India’s International Adventure Travel Company- The Active Holiday Company founded by Gauri Jayaram is set to bring about the much-awaited revolution in niche travel and tourism sector. Bringing down the global adventure travel giants like Intrepid and Exodus for India’s first ever International Adventure Travel Symposium is the milestone step toward this journey.
Aimed to impart knowledge to industry stakeholders to help them grow and enhance their adventure travel business, Bengaluru-based Active Holiday Company is set to organise India's first '. The event will be organised in association with Australia-based Intrepid Travel, the world's largest adventure travel company and UK-based Exodus, one of the oldest adventure travel companies in the world. The Symposium is supported by the tourism boards of Oman, Malaysia and Italy. The first day of the event will be dedicated to B2B sessions and will include speakers who are experts on the subject. The second day will be a B2C event aimed at bringing out the stories of 4 accomplished Indian adventurers who have pushed their limits with adventure travel. Entry for both days is by-registration only and is free of cost. The B2B sessions will have 75 registered delegates, whereas B2C day will see about 150 registered delegates. 
Brief about the event and its motto:
The first of its kind international adventure travel survey and its insights into the socio and demographic of adventure travellers in India will be shared. The objective is to help travel consultants in India and otherwise to explore and take international adventure travel to the next level. Spread over two power packed days, the symposium on December 2nd at Churchgate, Mumbai will have B2B format with motivational speakers like Jacquie Burnside, General Manager Emerging Markets – Intrepid Group, Andrew Appleyard, International Sales Manager- Exodus, Salvatore Ianniello, Representative India at ENIT (Italian Tourism Board), Anil Srivatsa and Gauri Jayaram. Adventure will be redefined with speakers like Malli Mastan Babu, who holds the World Record for climbing the tallest peak in all 7 continents in shortest duration (172 days), possibly India’s first international outdoor and adventure journalist – Apoorva Prasad, Ram Chandra Biswas who has been travelling on a bicycle over 30 years now and his journey of 627,200 kms approximately, which almost equals a return journey from the moon and paediatrician, mother, certified scuba diver, marathoner and traveller, Gurmeet Soni Bhalla.
