Rewari (Haryana), November 23, 2014: Haryana Chief Minister, Manohar Lal Khattar stressed the need to improve administrative and police system in the state. He said that anybody could give suggestions to improve their functioning and the state government would implement good suggestions.
He was addressing the officers of District Administration in Rewari on Sunday. He said that with a view to check corruption we all would have to do away with the tendency to amass wealth. He said that the state government has been suffering an annual loss of Rs. 6000 crore due to theft of power. He said that with a view to eliminate corruption we would have to evolve a full proof system. Therefore, to achieve this, we would have to motivate the people to follow high ideals of life and render selfless service to the society.
He said that it has been decided to pay old-age allowance, widow and handicapped pension to pay the beneficiaries directly through their bank account from January 1, 2015. He directed the officers to get the bank accounts of these beneficiaries in the bank branches within their villages or nearby areas. This would benefit the genuine beneficiary. He said that under the Prime Minister’s Jan-Dhan Yojna the bank accounts of such beneficiaries could be opened with zero balance.
He exhorted the officers to ensure that the benefit of welfare schemes being implemented by the Central and State governments must percolate to the grass root level. He said that priority of the government was to provide a responsive and transparent administration. He also asked the officers to keep the people informed of the various schemes being implemented by the state and Central governments.
