Jalandhar, September 12, 2014: Vajra Corps dispatched Flood Relief Aid comprising of medicines and food items i.e meal ready to eat like Biscuits, Maggi, Chips, Fruity & Mineral Water and clothing items like Blankets, Children, Ladies & gents clothes etc, as a relief aid for the flood victims in Srinagar, which was flagged off from here today by senior officers of Vajra Corps. Flood relief material collected by Vajra Corps has been airlifted from Adampur to Srinagar for further distribution to flood affected areas of Jammu and Kashmir.
Flood relief aid collection centre started by Vajra Corps has driven Army personnel as well as civilians of Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Ferozepur, Amritsar and Meerut to come forward and contribute for the flood affected people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Vajra Corps Engineers Task Force continued its relief and rescue operation in flood affected areas of Srinagar. Vajra Corps team has evacuated 3114 persons so far from flood affected areas to safe places. Five medical teams are also working round the clock to provide necessary medical treatment to the flood affected people at old Airfield, Batmaloo and Rambagh areas.
