CBI signs MoU with SPUJ to enhance quality of investigation and prosecution of crime

New Delhi, August 6, 2014: In pursuit of qualitative enhancement of skills in the areas of investigation and prosecution of crime, CBI today inked a Memorandum of Understanding with Sardar Patel University of Police, Security and Criminal Justice (SPUJ), Jodhpur at its Headquarters in New Delhi. Besides skill upgradation, MoU seeks to establish collaboration in pursuance of mutual interest in upgrading the quality of Criminal Justice System in India and increase academic and intellectual interaction between SPUJ and CBI through various activities.
Speaking on the occasion, Ranjit Sinha, Director, CBI said that they are trying to lay foundations for long and enduring partnerships with institutes of international eminence to establish collaboration in upgrading the quality of Criminal Justice System in India and of late, CBI has been forging alliance with other Indian educational institutions of repute to come together at single platform to achieve common goal.
Sinha further said that the MoU commits CBI and SPUJ to work together more closely towards a common goal to pursue excellence in respective domains by dedicated research and extension activities in the realm of policing, security and criminal justice where professionals, academicians and young citizens work to achieve understanding knowledge and skills required to attain highest ideals of public services and democratic citizenship.
Director, CBI elaborated that the mandate of SPUJ is to focus on teaching and research in the fields of police, social sciences, criminal justice, public safety and security related issues.  He underlined the objective of both the Institutes is common and that is to provide the best Criminal Justice System to the society.
M.L. Kumawat, Vice Chancellor, SPUJ also addressed the august gathering. He said that there is great need to evolve new methodologies to combat the growing menace of variety of crimes including cyber crime.
The MoU was signed by Shri Ranjit Sinha, Director, CBI and  M.L. Kumawat, Vice Chancellor, Sardar Patel University of Police Security and Criminal Justice.
The function was attended by senior officers of CBI including  Anil Sinha, Special Director; Archana Ramasundaram, Additional Director;  R.K.Dutta, Additional Director and officials of Sardar Patel University of Police Security and Criminal Justice.
