New Delhi, August 6, 2014: The Special Judge, CBI Cases, Pune has convicted Shambu Datt Sharma, a former Executive Engineer (Electrical), CPWD, Mukundnagar, Pune (Maharashtra) in a bribery case and sentenced him to undergo seven years Rigorous Imprisonment with total fine of Rs.One Lakh.
The Investigation revealed that Shambu Datt Sharma while working as Executive Engineer (Electrical), CPWD, Mukundnagar, Pune, on 25.01.2006 demanded and accepted a bribe of Rs.12,000 from the Complainant for clearing the final payment of the bills submitted by him.
The accused was caught red handed while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.10,000 from the Complainant. After investigation, charge sheet was filed U/s 7 and 13(2) r/w 13(1)(d) of PC Act, 1988.
In another case, the Special Judge, CBI Court No.4, Mirzapur, Ahmedabad (Gujarat) has convicted Mukesh Jansari, the then Preventive Officer, Kandla Special Economic Zone (KASEZ), Gandhidham (Gujarat) U/s 13(2) r/w 13(1)(e) of PC Act, 1988 and sentenced him to undergo one year Simple Imprisonment with fine of Rs.5000 in a disproportionate assets case.
It was alleged that Mukesh Jansari, the then Preventive Officer, Kandla Special Economic Zone (KASEZ), Gandhidham and his family members had acquired disproportionate assets during the check period August-2006 to 3.9.2008 to the tune of Rs.8.98 Lakhs (approx.).
