Chandigarh, April 21, 2014: City-based non-profit organisation, Prakash Foundation Charitable Trust (PFCT) organised an awareness camp to highlight the importance of education for the girls in the rural settings.
The camp was held at a remote village Palai in Western UP.
Physiatrist Dr V Singh and Life Skills Trainer Canny Gogia were the special guests at the programme.
Canny Gogia emphasised the need of education to girls for overall upliftment of the rural people. A rangoli making contest for the girls and an art competition for the children was also held on the occasion. The winners were distributed notebooks.
PFCT is the brainchild of senior journalist Narvijay Yadav, who has been continuously making efforts to make the farmers, rural people, especially girls aware of better life, new techniques of agriculture and finding solutions to their day-to-day difficulties. The organization has also undertaken the conservation task of Sarus Cranes found in abundance in the wetlands under Palai-Singthara Lake.
Narvijay Yadav, founder president, PFCT, said, “The pilot project has been launched in Palai village, however, we are concerned for the overall welfare of poor farmers in all over India. Initially the awareness programmes are being conducted in Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Rishikesh-Uttarakhand and western Uttar Pradesh. We are striving hard to connect the agriculture experts and farmers.”
