Ferozepur, April 11, 2014: The Special Counter Intelligence team have nabbed three persons with three kilogram heroin worth Rs.15 crore in the international market along with cash of rupees seventy thousand and two mobiles at village Rahime Ke Uthar, Madot, Ferozepur today morning.
Dr. Jatinder Jain, IG, Counter Intelligence, Bhatinda said during a press conference that police have nabbed three persons Ranjodh Singh resident of Mehandipur (Khemkaran), Satpal Singh, Kuldip singh, residents of Bhawda Ajam Shah with the consignment.
He further said the Gurbhej Singh, brother-in-law of Satpal singh, who lives in England, allegedly supplies these consignments through Pakistan with the help of international smugglers. The consignment is sent through border areas of Ferozepur, Fazilka and Amrtisar. He further said Ranjodh Singh, who lives besides international fence at Mehandipur, Khemakran, allegedly received fifty consignments of contrabands.
Following the inputs, the intelligence had laid special checking nakas. On one of these naka at Rahime Ke Uthar, the police personnel nabbed three contrabandists.
It is pertinent to mention that it is third consignment in one week recovered from Mamdot areas. 36 Kg heroin was seized by BSF personnel at BOP Lakha Singh wala, Mamdot on April 6. Another two kg heroin was recovered by BSF at BOP J R Hithar, Mamdot and now another three kg heroin has been seized by counter intelligence team from Rahime Ke Uthar, Madot.
