Punjab to go for polls on April 30
New Delhi, March 5, 2014: The election dates for Lok Sabha polls 2014 have been announced today. As per the available information, the elections will begin on April 7 and counting will be held on May 16. Therefore, fate of political parties and its candidates will be come out of ballot boxes on May 16, thus, paving a way for formation of a new government at the Centre.
Chief Election Commissioner VS Sampath today made an announcement for commencement of Lok Sabha polls.
The elections will be held in 9 phases, covering a total 543 constituencies.
The election to Arunachal Pradesh will be held on April 9 followed by Assam on April 7, 12 and 24, Bihar on April 10, 17, 24, 30, May 7 and 12, Chhattisgarh on April 10, 17, 24, Goa on April 17, Gujarat on April 30, Haryana on April 10, Himachal Pradesh on May 7, J&K on April 10, 17, 24, 30, May 7, Jharkhand on April 10, 17, 24, Karnataka on April 17, Kerala on April 10, MP on April 10, 17, 24, Maharashtra on April 10, 17 24, Manipur on April 9, 17, Meghalaya on April 9,
