New Delhi, March 3, 2014: The Special Judge, Tis Hazari Courts, Delhi has convicted accused Adarsh Pal Singh U/s 489 C of IPC for possession & circulation of Fake Indian Currency Notes of Rs.15,91,500 and sentenced him to undergo two years Rigorous Imprisonment.
CBI had registered the case on the basis of a complaint for the offences U/s 120-B r/w 489-B, 489-C of IPC against accused Adarsh Pal Singh, resident of Civil Lines, Haldwani, District Nainital (Uttarakhand) for possession & circulation of Fake Indian Currency Notes. It was alleged that Indian Currency Notes believed to be fake to the tune of Rs.15,91,500 comprising 3183 pieces of notes of 500 Rupee denomination were recovered from the possession of accused Adarsh Pal Singh on May 20, 2012. The same was concealed in LCD TV & covered with carbon paper to avoid detection by the scanner installed at the IGI Airport, which was allegedly brought by him from Bangkok. The search resulted in recovery of FICN having face value of Rs.15,91,500.
After thorough investigation, a charge sheet was filed on August 21, 2012 against accused U/s 120-B r/w Section 489-B & 489-C IPC and substantive offences thereof in the Court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Delhi with a note for further investigation, as the involvement of other persons has transpired the commission of above said offences.
