APICON-2014: Pre-Conference Workshops held

Pre-conference workshops to be followed by 69th Annual Conference of the Association of. Physicians of India (APICON-2014) from February 20 to 23 being held at Ludhiana on Wednesday.

 

Ludhiana, February 19, 2014: Pre-conference workshops to be followed by 69th Annual Conference of the Association of. Physicians of India (APICON-2014) from February 20 to 23 was inaugurated here today by Dr SS Gill, Vice-Chancellor, Baba Farid University of Health Sciences, Faridkot.
Dr SS Gill, while highlighting the importance of the conference hailed the Organising Committee for conducting an event of great educational value. He said the world renowned experts participating in the event will benefit participating delegates and faculty with their experiences and knowledge in the related field.
Eight workshops which included Electrocardiography, Live Echocardiography, GI procedures, Neurology, ICU Care, BCLS & ACLS, Geriatric care and Pain Management were conducted by eminent faculty from abroad and India including Dr Nitish Naik & Dr Gautam Sharma from AIIMS, New Delhi, Dr Rohit Manoj Kumar from PGIMER, Chandigarh, Dr. Ulhas Pandurangi from Chennai, Dr Naveen C Nanda from USA, Dr. Nageshwar Reddy from Hyderabad, Dr Agam  Vora from Mumbai and Dr Birinder Vij from Cleveland Clinics, USA. The workshops were preceded by video presentations and lectures from participants.
Organising Secretary-Dr Gurpreet S Wander extend warm welcome to all the participating delegates. He said such activities/ conferences are of great importance to the students/ faculty and help to evolve better patient care system through detailed interactions with world famous experts in the field of medicine. The workshops will be followed by four daylong conference to be inaugurated on February 2O by Chief Minister of Punjab Parkash Singh Badal at Whistling Wuds Resort, Ferozepur Road.
Organizing Secretaries informed that around 6,200 delegates are expected to attend the conference and elaborate and extensive arrangements have been made for the participants and hoped the event will be a great success.
