New Delhi/Jalandhar, February 4, 2014: The Special Judge for CBI Cases, Nagpur has convicted P.N. Dharmadhikari, then Dy. Director, Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC), Nagpur and P.B. Bubukwar, Private Person U/s 7, 13(2) r/w 13 (1)(d) of PC Act, 1988 and Section 12 of PC Act, 1988 in a bribery case. The Court sentenced P.N. Dharmadhikari to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.7000 and P.B.Bubukwar to undergo one year Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs.2000.
CBI had registered a case against P.N. Dharmadhikari, then Dy. Director, ESIC, Nagpur and P.B. Bubukwar, Private Person on the basis of a complaint alleging that Dharmadhikari, then Dy. Director, Employees State Insurance Corporation had demanded a bribe of Rs.10,000 through private person from the complainant for releasing the seizure of bank accounts of the complainant, who was the Proprietor of a Hotel in Nagpur.
After registration of the case, both the accused were caught red handed while demanding and accepting the bribe of Rs.10,000 from the complainant. CBI had filed the chargesheet on December 22, 2005.
