Three years rigorous imprisonment to three accused in bribery case

New Delhi/Jalandhar, January 1, 2014: The Special Judge for CBI Cases Bhopal  has convicted three accused persons, i.e  Mahendra Singh Chouhan;  Mukesh Raghuwanshi &  Dharmendra Ramonia and sentenced them to undergo three years Rigorous Imprisonment with fine of Rs. 11,000 each in a bribery case.

CBI had registered a Case U/s 8 of PC Act, 1988 on a complaint against a Driver in Railway Department on the allegations that he had demanded a bribe of Rs. One Lakh each for the recruitment of younger brother & a relative of the complainant for getting them appointed as TC in Railway through the DRM, Bhopal. It was further alleged that the accused had already obtained an amount of Rs. 45,000/- from both the candidates and demanded Rs. 20,000 as bribe for medical examination of both the candidates by the Railway Doctor. On the basis of said complaint, Mahendra Singh Chouhan was caught red handed by CBI. During the said proceedings on the disclosure of Mahendra Singh Chouhan, certain incriminating documents/articles printed /scanned/typed in the name of Railway Recruitment were seized from Dharmendra Ramonia.

A charge sheet was  filed on 21.04.2009 in the Court of Special Judge for CBI Cases, Bhopal against Mahendra Singh Chouhan; the Driver and Dharmendra Ramonia U/s 120-B, 419, 420, 468, 471 473 of IPC and Sec. 8 of PC Act. 1988 and a supplementary chargesheet was filed against Mukesh Raghuwanshi on 24.12.2009. The Driver died during the trial.

The Trial Court found the accused guilty and convicted them.
