New Delhi/Jalandhar, September 13, 2013: Haryana Chief Minister, Bhupinder Singh Hooda has said that Haryana Government will honour Ashish Kumar of Haryana with Pratibha Samman, on his selection for Astronaut Training Programme of NASA.
This was stated by Hooda, when shish met him at his New Delhi residence today, alongwith his father Radhey Shyam.
Congratulating Ashish Kumar on his achievement, Hooda wished him a bright future. Hooda said that Haryana Government has felicitated the candidates from Haryana, who have been selected for Indian Civil Services. The same way, Ashish will also be felicitated and given Rs. 1.5 lakh.
On this occasion, the Chairman of Haryana Panchayat Samiti Association, Praveen Chaudhary, Sarpanch Naveen, former Sarpanch Ram Niwas and Agriculture Development Officer Hari Ram were also present.
Ashish is from Dhaulera Village of Mahendergarh district and has passed his 10+2 examination from Nangal Chaudhary School. Before his selection for three years Astronaut Training Programme of NASA, he had also cleared IISAT (Indian Institute of Space Aeronautics and Technology) competition organised by Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO). Ashish said that he wants to do something for his country in the field of space science. He told that he has also cleared IIT entrance examination and got 112th rank.
For the Astronaut Training Programme of NASA, only 10 candidates have been selected from the world over, including three from India. Three years training programme will be conducted in Washington at the NASA premises.
