New Delhi/Jalandhar, September 9, 2013: The Secretary-General, INTERPOL, Ronald K. Noble has complimented CBI in its capacity as the National Central Bureau (NCB), for Interpol in India for demonstrating professionalism and willingness to share its expertise to effectively combat transnational organized crime. In a message on the Central Bureau of Investigation’s Golden Jubilee Year, the Secretary General, on behalf of the INTERPOL global family, extended his congratulations to the CBI and said that the Bureau showed a Leadership role several times, including when it co-hosted with Interpol two important Regional Programmes.
The Secretary-General said that the CBI has become a powerful and respected international voice. He added that during the last five decades under leaders beginning with D.P.Kohli and continuing with the Director Shri Ranjit Sinha, the CBI’s strong commitment to international law enforcement cooperation placed India at the forefront of global policing.
The Interpol Secretary General said with India’s booming economy relying in great part on its IT infrastructure and industry, the CBI understands the need to engage with INTERPOL on transnational crimes such as cybercrime, which threaten the security of nations.
