New Delhi/Jalandhar, August 27 2013 : The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested a Junior Engineer, Rail Electrification Section, Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 40,000 from the complainant.
A case was registered U/s 7 and 120-B of PC Act, 1988 against a Dy. FA & CAO, Secunderabad and a Junior Engineer, Rail Electrification Section, Rail Nilayam, Secunderabad, for demanding illegal gratification of Rs.40,000 from the Complainant (Contractor) to clear the pending bills pertaining to purchase and installation of power traction equipment. CBI laid a trap and the Junior Engineer was caught red handed while accepting the bribe of Rs.40,000 from the Complainant. Searches were conducted at the residential premises of both accused. Some incriminating documents were recovered.
The arrested accused was produced before the Special Judge for CBI cases, Hyderabad and remanded to Judicial Custody.
