Jalandhar/Ludhiana, July 31, 2013: BJP national executive member Manoranjan Kalia has strongly condemned the recent hike in petrol price by 70 paisa per litre and diesel by 50 paisa per litre from midnight tonight. This will be the fifth increase in rates of petrol in the last two months. The new rates are excluding local sales tax or VAT.
In a statement here today, Kalia feared that the hike will boost further inflation and common man will be the most affected one. He said people have witnessed hike in the price of petrol by Rs 6/82 paisa per liter and taxes extra.
Kalia also consoled the death of innocent bus passengers travelling in an ill-fated PUNBUS from Delhi to Amritsar, which plunged into the Bhakra Main Canal near Sarhind in Fathegarh Sahib. He termed the incident as “unfortunate”.
