Ferozepur, August 1, 2013: In the fields owned by Jagir Singh in Sahan Ke Hitar village, an old live bomb was found, while he was digging a piece of the land for irrigation purposes.
Immediately on getting this information, a police team rushed to the village and cordoned off and Army officials were asked to send a bomb disposal squad to defuse it.
While working in the field, Jagir Singh stumbled across a hard bomb like object and informed the village Sarpanch KirshanLal Narang.
SHO Gurbinder Singh said the bomb might be lying underneath the fields since the two Indo-Pak wars in 1965 and 1971 as the firing pin and the outer shell of the bomb was affected with rust. However, only the ballistic experts would be able to reveal about the technical specifications of the bomb.
In the past also on a number of occasions earlier, such bombs have been found in the villages along the Indo-Pakistan Border.
