Jalandhar, July 10, 2013: Lt Gen Philip Campose, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief Western Command arrived here for his maiden visit at the Vajra Corps Headquarters on Wednesday.
The Army Commander was received by Lt Gen AK Bakshi, General Officer commanding, Vajra Corps. The Army Commander during his maiden visit to Jalandhar, was briefed on operational preparedness of the ‘Vajra Warriors-The Defenders of Punjab’.
During the visit besides being updated on operational preparedness by the Vajra Corps Commander, the Army Commander interacted with Formation Commanders and Staff of the Vajra Team. He expressed his satisfaction on the state of operational readiness. Keeping in view the criticality of defending heartland of the Country, Army Commander emphasized on requirement of maintaining the highest state of operational preparedness and discipline. He exhorted all ranks towards value based leadership, as per the legacy of the Indian Army. Army Commander highlighted requirements of regular seamless interactions with veterans to imbibe their rich ethos and required care for them. The Army Commander deeply appreciated efforts of the Vajra Corps, “The Defenders of Punjab” to provide quality recreational facilities to all ranks in the station leading to appreciable administrative satisfaction.
