OPEN martyr’s ancestral house for visitors

Ludhiana, January 17, 2013: A great resentment prevails among Trustees of All-India Shaheed Sukhdev Thapar Memorial Trust and others over the attitude of the Ludhiana Administration towards the martyr Sukhdev Thapar's ancestral house at Naughara Mohalla in Ludhiana.

To lodge their protest, the Trustees and others led by Ashok Thapar, staged a strong protest by observing black day outside the martyr’s house on January 16.

Protestors were bearing black ribbons on their mouths as a mark of protest. They said the state government had taken over the possession of the house on January 16 last year and since then the house was locked. As a result, those who visit to see the martyr’s house, have to return with a great disappointment as it is locked.  Thapar told the media persons that they had renovated the house a few years ago. Now, the building of the house was getting damaged due to locking of the house for the last one year, he rued.

Among others, Sandeep Thapar, Roshan Lal, Suresh Luthra, Satish Budhiraja, Ashok Bhandari, Tribhuvan Thapar, Deepak Puri, Ramesh Shukla, Vishal Shukla and Som Nath Grover were present.
