New Delhi/Jalandhar, June, 24, 2013: The Central Bureau of Investigation has arrested an Army Naik Sachin Kadam, posted at Bombay Engineering Group Centre, Kirkee, Pune (Maharashtra) for demanding and accepting bribe of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant. Another official allegedly involved in the case has also been arrested.
A Case as registered on June 22, 2013 u/s 7 of P.C.Act,1988 against Army Naik Sachin Kadam, Bombay Engineering Group Centre, Kirkee, Pune for demanding bribe of Rs. 1,50,000 from the complainant for issuing the call letter in the name of his son who was selected for the post of Army Jawan.
CBI sleuths laid a trap wherein Army Naik Sachin Kadam was caught red handed while demanding and accepting the part payment of Rs. 10,000 from the complainant. During interrogation of the accused, it came to light that another official was also involved in the said crime. Thereafter, search at the residence of both accused was conducted and incriminating documents have been recovered.
Both the arrested accused were produced before the Special Judge, Pune and remanded to Police Custody till July 1, 2013.
